Congratulations to NESBA Member!

A note from NESBA member Dorothy Gardner McCauley:

My works, Amaryllis Autobiography and Malus domestica were part of the Scituate Art Association Juried Show. There were 200 paintings submitted, 68 were accepted. It was a wonderful show! I felt honored to have my work selected as it was the only botanical art there. Every time we cross that barrier I feel closer to seeing botanical art being accepted into mainstream galleries. This show was at the Front St Gallery in Scituate . It ended yesterday.

Thank you,

Congratulations, Dotty!

Asian Vegetable Show at Misaki

Here are a few pictures of the Asian vegetable "show" at Misaki, a Japanese restaurant on West Main Street in Hyannis. The works are from Sarah Roche's fall Techniques Class where we painted from the asian vegetable garden at WCBG. They came together to make a nice little show, just right for this place. The artists are Lucy Sur, Elena Balmaseda-Scherer, Nancy Horall, Margaret Young, Sue Neff, and Ellen Duarte.

If anyone gets to the Cape in the next few weeks, check it out.

Thanks to Sarah and my classmates! Ellen

New Exhibit Opportunity for Mountains to the Sea

To Massachusetts members of NESBA,

The "Mountains to the Sea" exhibit will have a companion exhibit, side-by-side with the "Native Plants" portion of the show, when it exhibits in Duxbury, MA this May through September. All Massachusetts members are invited to participate.

This open-themed portion of the botanical exhibit is NOT a juried show. We hope to encourage all Massachusetts members to participate, and preference will be given to members who are not already in the juried section of the exhibit. The committee hopes to be able to take as many as 30 paintings---as many as space will allow. See more details in the attachment included here.
