Painting and Sketching in the Garden

To All NESBA Members!

NESBA member Ellen Duarte had offered us a very kind invitation!

"Painting and Sketching in the Garden"

Where: At the home and gardens of member Ellen Duarte in Centerville, Mass. and at Long Pond Conservation and Community Gardens near Ellen's home.

Dates: choose to go to one, two or all three, following a plant all summer long!
  • Monday, June 25
  • Monday, July 30
  • Monday, August 20
The Plan: Arrive at Ellen's home in Centerville, MA at 8:30 am. (early, to "beat the heat"!) Caravan to the gardens (12 minutes away) and paint. Return to Ellen's house (air conditioned!) for lunch (bring your own, Ellen will provide cold drinks), or choose to go to a local restaurant on your own. Go back to the gardens after lunch, or stay and paint in Ellen's yard, or basement "classroom" Possibility, if interest, in a pot luck supper before you head on your way home!

Ellen says:
"If someone would like to follow the progress of something, I could see that the plant is preserved for the entire season (to the best of my ability!). I'm trying for another artichoke and part of the garden will focus on medicinal herbs and plants. There are always lots of flowers, ( I plant varieties of cosmos, zinnias, bachelor buttons, nasturtiums, and more), varieties of basil, lettuces and the ever present perennials."
Mark your calendars! Contact information and directions will come later, and you can RSVP to Ellen, whose information is in the ASBA Directory* or the soon-to-be-distributed NESBA Member List. (*under Margaret Ellen Duarte)

Thank you to Ellen for this lovely idea and for her hospitality!
